Category: Life When I was diagnosed with breast cancer on October 9th, 2007 it was the worst day of my life. When I arrived at the benefit on November 18th, 2007 it was the best day of my life. To see the support from friends, family and acquaintances truly made me the most blessed person on this earth. My spirits were lifted and my strength increased to fight this disease even more. I will continue to fight for a cure for breast cancer even more so now that I have a personal connection to it…
Listed below are the names of my friends who helped to make this benefit so special for me, and to them I give thanks for having them in my life:
Chopper Bill (Gray Wolf Productions) and Canna Saukas for getting the benefit off the ground and keeping the little surprises a secret even from me! Deb Schmid for acquiring the shirts, flower arrangements, trying to get as much video as possible, and for letting me hide from the world at her hotel room! Lee and Greg of Full Throttle Magazine for covering the event as well as adding they’re help in getting Carol M. Baldwin herself to attend. Robin of Full Throttle and her daughter Rosie who made beautiful jewelry, Christina and Maureen made fantastic food for the beginning with East Wind Caterer’s finishing up the buffet, Marilynn and Lori for providing the desserts, and John Mistretta of Sabrette providing the food for the BBQ. Anthony, Mike and Kevin of TRAXX where the benefit was held, Al and Jean for registering the motorcycles on such a chilly day, the lovely ladies who made homemade pink chocolate lollipops and donated to the benefit, the children of the Progressive School and their special teacher Shannon who raised money separately to donate to this cause. DJ Joey emceed the event with his sexy raffle girls Linda and Ginger by his side. Thanks to Miss Pamela (Den Mother of Metal) for jumping behind the bar and donating her tips as well.
Special thanks and much gratitude to the members of The LightHouse Hog Chapter 3235 for their contribution to the run as well as being my newest friends that have a special place in my heart. My love Haz-Mat organized and lead the run flawlessly and I want to thank him for supporting me through this as he had already lost someone very special to him from this disease.
The music that entertained everyone for the day was provided by ALL of my friends that I Love so much and not until my benefit did I realize how much they all loved me. Disguised as Normal, Randy Jackson, Vagabond Garden, Oxygen, The reunion of Road Kill, Meech, Jeff Regan, The Seed of Ireland Pipe Band, and of course Xciter. Oh and we can not forget my special surprise by the King himself -Stingray-ELVIS was in the house. I think Mrs. Baldwin liked him more than I did! I want to thank Mike & Jack from Xciter for going out of their way to get autographs from Rob Halford himself! They had him sign my Judas Priest Jacket, as well as getting the members of the reunited band FIGHT to sign one of my flyers. I want to thank my special friend Kevin of Vagabond Garden for serenading me as well as letting me share the stage with tambourine in hand! I had a blast!
Once again I wish to thank you all for being a part of my life, and for supporting me through this. I am truly blessed .
