Pass the Rx Please

Now I get to see how the medical industry likes to pass the “responsibility hat”.  Seems I can’t get an answer from anyone regarding what my hormone levels are to warrant the Rx for Tamoxifen.  Before my cancer diagnosis I had had problems with the monthly woman plague not being regular, having it twice in a month, developing cysts on the ole ovary two times.  So I questioned (OMG!) My oncologist as to how she determined that I hadn’t started menapause yet based on those symptoms.  Seems to me and everyone else that those are clear cut signs of the start of the bitch syndrome. I called my oncologists office and asked them what my hormone levels are and they’re answer was to Call my breast surgeon as he ordered the initial blood work and had that information.  SOOOOOO I call My breast surgeons office and they told me that he didn’t order a specific test for that, and that I needed to call my Gyno as that is something he would have to do. HMMM? So My oncologist can prescribe a Medication based SOLEY on the fact that I “may” not have started menapause and that I should take this medication that could possibly cause Uterine cancer, blood clots, and sudden death-because that is the standard treatment IF I haven’t started menapause yet.  So NOW I have to go to my gyno dude order tests to check and see if I actually have started menapause, and THEN I can give that information to my Oncologist so HOPEFULLY she can prescribe the right medication.  I know I am supposed to have a “team” working together to fight this shit for me, but I did not think I had to be the LEADER of this team! Bottom Line I AM IN CHARGE OF MY BODY and before I put ANYTHING in it that the Doctor’s say I should ~I have to make sure that they are doing their job…right.  GO TEAM GO!!!!
